Catherine Wimberley, Programs and Services Coordinator and Interim Manager – Brandywine Hundred Library, discussed our New Castle County Libraries, discover print books and CDs, DVSs and periodicals, but also e-books, audio books, hobby ‘kits,’tools and musical instruments for loan, as well as computer access, Dial-a-Story and free language lessons through Transparent Language. There are programs with free books for newborns and toddlers, a new ‘Smart’ Card library card for teens, and programs for adults looking for jobs or documents. She describes the library as our new ‘Community Center’ – and they are open. Upcoming events include Hispanic Heritage Month activities, including a talk with Yamile saied Mendez Monday, September 27, and a October 22nd New castle County Reads author event with Pachinko author Min Jin Lee.
