Rebecca Phillips, Associate Director of Philanthropy at Nemours, Afred I duPont Hospital for Children, discussed the history and growth of the institution, from the mansion of Mr. duPont to two world-class resaerch and teaching hospitals and more than 80 primary, specialty and urgent care locations, working with 22 hospitals in five states. Nemours Health System, a non-profit, delievers total health care to children, with more than 30 specialties including cancer and blood disorders, transplantation, cardiac care, orthopedics and neuroscience. Ms Philllips discussed their advocacy work within the communty on prevention and health care access. She also spoke of their total family approach to care and their Childlife Department, which supports the child’s mental state during treatments with play.
