Sarah Fulton, Development Director for Spur Impact discussed this year’s DoMore24 Delaware, a 24 hour fundraising event launching at 6pm March 4th and continuing through 6pm March 5, that benefits nearly 300 participating DE non-profits. Any registered charity can join in, using a designated landing page at DoMore24 and their own social media and donor lists to solicit funds during the 24 hours. They compete for incentives and matching dollars, with no charity going without something. Tyler Shade, Development and Marketing Director of Family Promise of Northern New Castle County described his service provider, a locally based charity offering emergency shelter while seeking to place families into permanent housing. Lianna Magerr, Executive Director of the Wilmington Children’s Chorus, spoke about her organization, they provide local youth with free vocal music instruction and performance opportunities, introducing them to choral music and the skills that go with performing together. They both spoke about their experience with DoMore24, which allows them to reach a wider audience of potential donors. Sarah added that this year there will be two new features, donors making a minimum donation will receive a ticket to a virtual March 5th Jimmie Allen concert, and, in association with the local restaurant association, a DineMore week will generate donations when you patronize a participating local restaurants, a win for them and the charities.
