Paul Westlake, Systems of Care Coordinator with the DHSS Office of Emergency Medical Services, discussed the coordinated efforts of the state and health services to direct patients to the best care possible, or – the right patient to the right facility at the right time. Using Trauma, children’s health emergencies and Stroke as examples, he discussed the state’s legislative mandate for levels of care, ensuring that responders will take a patient to the best care facility possible. We discussed the ideas behind ‘systems of care’ – planned responses to medical and metal health issues, including care and prevention. Follow them on social media using #StopStrokeDE
