Cathy Holloway, Volunteer Coordinator of Self-Management Programming for the Chronic Disease Bureau at the Delaware Department of Health and Social Services discussed the state’s response to the chronic conditions that make up over half of its annual deaths, cancer, chronic lung disease, diabetes and heart disease. discussed their series of health workshops devised for peer support and self-management for chronic disease. She described how residents sharing the same conditions meet to discuss treatmentnavigation skills, their mental health and dealing with a chronic disease while managing home and work life.
