Shaun Gines, Senior Manager for Community Development, gave us tips on staying healthy, the obvious stop smoking, watch your diet and alcohol consumption and exercise, but also the current recommendations on screening, from mammograms to colonoscopies. After telling us the current statistics and success stories in treatment, he discussed research in cancer prevention and the society’s funding of innovative and small projects. Finally – a reminder that it take money to fund the programs and research and the return of Daffodils, a traditional ACS fundraiser, buy flowers or bulbs through February 5th to benefit their programs!
