One of the biggest stress factors is work.

When we’re stressed out, we tend to reflect on our jobs and financial status as the biggest component.

Either a situation with a boss or coworker has set us off. Or, we catch ourselves in situations where we’re short on cash.

It also could be a personal matter with a friend or family member but that’s not as common.

Whatever has you feeling like you have to catch your breath a little more often than usual, we hope it gets better soon.

You may have heard some people say that they feel more relaxed by the water. This may be a contributing factor to some of the states on this list. This also may be why Florida is still one of the best states to retire in.

Scenery can make a huge difference in your day to day life. If you are easily influenced by your surroundings and you live in a busy city, it’s possible that the hustle and bustle of a noisy place could be bothering you.

Surprisingly though, Florida is not among the Top 10 States to Live in. Turns out, the majority of people in Florida aren’t that relaxed.

Let’s take a look at the The Top 10 Most Relaxed States To Live In and see if any of these catch your eye.

A study conducted by CBD oil products company CBDfx, explored data from the United Health Foundation’s American Health Rankings to see which states had the lowest rates of people reporting stress.

 

  • South Dakota

    South Dakota has the lowest stress rate, thus being the most relaxed state. The data reports that only 9.4% of citizens suffer from frequent mental distress. Only 7.9% of citizens suffer from frequent physical distress. Combining these statistics, it scores 96.20 out of 100 on the relaxation score.

  • Hawaii

    Seems to make sense right? How can you be stressed in such a beautiful place?

     

    Hawaii comes in second place with a relaxation score of 93.93 out of 100. This is due to only 10.7% of citizens suffering from frequent mental distress and 7.3% suffering from frequent physical distress. The physical distress percentage is the joint lowest of any state in the top ten.

  • Illinois

    10% of Illinois citizens suffer from frequent mental distress in the study, and only 8.7% suffer from frequent physical distress.

  • Alaska

    Alaska takes fourth with a score of 88.952.. In Alaska, 9.9% of citizens reported suffering from frequent mental distress, and 8.8% reported suffering from frequent physical

  • Maryland

    You would think it’s the beaches, right?

    Wrong. Maryland comes in with a relaxation score of 88.52 out of 100, with 12.2% of citizens reporting frequent mental distress and 7.3% reporting frequent physical distress. The percentage of people in the state reporting physical distress is the joint lowest in the top ten.
