I can’t imagine my life without Costco and my ability to buy in bulk. So here is a Costco Price Tag Secrets Guide.

We all want the best bang for our buck and that’s why we wind up at Costco!

You can grab flowers for the wife, 40lbs. of ketchup, and get your tires changed all in the same place!

I recently learned that Costco seeming disorganized is actually on purpose!

“Customers might not understand the reasoning behind Costco’s seemingly disorganized displays, but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t any. The company frequently refers to their store layout as a “treasure hunt,” explaining that they group things at random on purpose in order to force customers to spend more time in the store and hopefully make more impulse purchases” according to Best Life.

Even if the store was organized I would still spend as much time as I could inside.

If you want to save the big bucks shop the outside or edges of the store. These places tend to have the best prices overall.

Costco samples are even unlimited! So don’t feel shameful going back for more.

According to Reader’s Digest and former Costco employees everything in the store will eventually go on sale.

RD also suggests “keep an eye out for a date that sometimes appears under the final digit of the price. That date represents the most decent mark-down. Use this date to determine if you should buy now, or wait to see if the price drops again. There’s no one correct strategy, as popular items usually sell out shortly after a price drop, while items less in demand will have to be discounted repeatedly before selling. ”

I can’t imagine my life without Costco and my ability to buy in bulk. So here is a Costco Price Tag Secrets Guide:

Items that end in .99 are full price items. These items haven’t been reduced but there is a chance they will be

  • Items ending in .97

Here is where the savings start! Items that end in .97 are on clearance or they are already discounted.

  • Items ending in .00 or .88

More savings! Items ending in .00 or .88 are manager markdowns. These items will be priced SUPER LOW.

  • Items ending in .49 or .79

Savings continue with these items. “Non-Standard” prices signify a few things. These items could be a trial run or a manufacturers deal. These prices will usually be lower than retail

  • Items with a *

Items that have an * or asterisk at the upper right hand corner on their price tag are almost gone. Buy them now, especially if you love the product. The * signifies that the products will not be reordered to the star. Insiders call the asterisk the Death Star.
