It comes in all shapes and flavors but did you know that Delaware ranks in the top 5 of wine consumption in the country.

According to Wise Voter “As USA ranks as the highest Wine consuming countries in the world. We dug in to America’s favorite types of wine per state and the consumption in the past 10 years. Sauvignon Blanc came out on top as ranking top in 16 states followed by Cabernet Sauvignon ranking top in 10 states. Pinot Noir is also one of the favorites as it ranks top in 8 states.”

They also said “Wine consumption in USA is seem to be rising by the year, the nation has seen an increase of almost 10% from 2020 – 2021. The love for wine is such that an average American consumed 3.18 gallons in 2021.”

Delaware ranked #4 overall in wine consumption per capita with .72 gallons of wine per capita. Idaho was ranked first overall followed by New Hampshire and Vermont. Massachusetts rounded out the top 5.

California was surprisingly 6th on the list.
