PrimoHoagies, a beloved South Philadelphia sandwich chain established in 1992, will open its first airport location at Philadelphia International Airport's Terminal A-East in early 2026. The opening coincides with the airport's larger project, “Founded in Philly,” which showcases local Philadelphia eateries while celebrating the city's culinary scene and cultural heritage.

The new airport location will serve signature sandwiches like the Italian hoagie, featuring prosciutto, provolone, hot capicola, and Genoa salami on freshly baked rolls from Liscio's Italian Bakery, along with traditional deli sides. This expansion was developed through a partnership with The Grove Inc. (TGI) and M2 Concepts LLC.

According to Travel and Tour World, TGI operates the Philly Pretzel Factory in Terminal F.

PrimoHoagies has grown from a neighborhood shop on Ritner Street to an East Coast brand known for its Italian rolls and premium cold cuts, all while maintaining its South Philly heritage.

This latest announcement from Philadelphia International Airport coincides with several significant events scheduled for Philadelphia in 2026. Airport officials said they are preparing for what they anticipate will be increased visitation to Philly next year, driven by the FIFA World Cup, PGA Championship, MLB All-Star Game, celebrations for America's 250th birthday, and the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament occurring in and around the city.
