Starting Monday, Oct. 6, a Netflix film project will result in a closure of Route 133 in both directions in East Windsor, Mercer County, for two weeks. Daily filming is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.
Potential filming makeup days will take place from Saturday, Oct. 11, to Tuesday, Oct. 14, if the weather doesn't cooperate during the week of Oct. 6. Here are the details on these makeup days:
- Saturday, Oct. 11, and/or Sunday, Oct. 12, 6 a.m.-8 p.m.
- Monday, Oct. 13, and/or Tuesday, Oct. 14, 8:30 a.m.-8 p.m.
Detours will affect Princeton-Hightstown Road (CR 571), Route 130, Route 33, and One Mile Road. Motorists are urged to plan ahead and follow posted detour signs.
This filming activity is part of New Jersey's broader effort to boost its reputation as a prime location for film and television production. State officials see the film industry contributing significantly to the state's economy and job creation.
According to The Daily Voice of East Windsor-Hightstown, Netflix is investing $1 billion into a project to develop a 292-acre film production campus at the former Fort Monmouth Army base, featuring a dozen soundstages.
