A squadron of drones will take flight this weekend to herald the upcoming "Superman" movie featuring Philadelphia's David Corenswet.

Following the Philadelphia Phillies' game against the New York Mets on Sunday, June 22, 300 drones will fly over Citizens Bank Park and form 11 aerial formations connected to the film. The drone show will be viewable from inside the ballpark and around the stadium campus.

This program is part of the Wawa Welcome America event series, which is connected to the city's Fourth of July. Wawa Welcome America activities include fireworks, free admission days at museums, parades, and a music festival headlined by LL Cool J and Jazmine Sullivan.

According to a film trailer released in December, the new "Superman" movie is the first in a new franchise of films in the DC Universe. The film will be in theaters on Friday, July 11. It is written and directed by James Gunn and stars Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan, and Nicholas Hoult.
