Imagine having your pick of dining at the best restaurants under one roof. That's the idea behind a new Wonder Food Hall, a concept that has been opening new locations throughout Philadelphia and New Jersey this year.
Wonder Food Hall
Dining out at Wonder is fairly straightforward. You place an order on your phone and wait to receive a text that tells you when your food is ready.
Officials with Wonder told NJ Advance Media that the volume of orders at their Middletown, New Jersey, location alone, approximately 450 per day, has been overwhelming. Wonder currently operates 46 food halls throughout Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island.
One defining feature that makes Wonder food halls different from others you'll likely encounter in New York City, such as Urban Hawker or Vanderbilt Market, is its centralized kitchen and one-stop shop for food. While Wonder caters to to-go ordering, several tables are available for in-person dining.
Menus for the food items customers can experience were developed with the support of several top-ranked chefs, including José Andrés, Bobby Flay, Nancy Silverton, and Marcus Samuelsson.
Depending on the location, customers can find everything from cheesesteaks by Fred's Meat and Bread to chicken souvlaki by Yasas by Michael Symon.
Several new Wonder food hall locations have already or are soon coming to Pennsylvania and New Jersey:
