Avelo Adds Two New Direct Routes from Wilmington Airport
Come May, you can fly straight from Wilmington Airport to Jacksonville and Raleigh-Durham. Avelo Airlines just added these spots to their expanding network of destinations.
“We’re growing again. We are proud to announce more travel options to the Greater Philadelphia and Delaware Valley region. This service makes visiting North Carolina’s Research Triangle and northeast Florida easier than ever,” said Andrew Levy, Avelo Airlines founder and CEO, to Delaware Online.
Looking to head to Jacksonville? From May 23, planes will fly out on Mondays and Fridays. For those headed to Raleigh-Durham, flights kick off May 22, running Thursdays and Sundays.
In just two years at ILG, Avelo has built quite a presence. They now fly to places like Fort Lauderdale, Nashville, Orlando, and San Juan – eleven destinations total.
It’s proof that smaller airports can make big waves. Some routes will take a break until November, when the airline will look at how well they’re doing.
Travel at Wilmington Airport has boomed since Avelo landed in 2023. With these new additions, people can now fly to 13 different places.
Beach lovers have lots of Florida choices: Daytona Beach, Fort Myers, Sarasota, Tampa, and West Palm Beach. North Carolina’s in the mix too, with flights to Myrtle Beach and Wilmington.
By connecting Northeast and Southeast cities, Avelo’s filling a need in air travel. Their growth fits with a bigger trend of serving more cities across the country.
For people in the Philadelphia and Delaware Valley area, these new flights mean more options without dealing with big airports. That’s typical Avelo – linking smaller airports to popular destinations.
