These Delaware Restaurants Are Attracting Visitors from All Over
Delaware has fantastic restaurants, and as it turns out, some Delaware restaurants are attracting visitors from outside the state. Of course, most of the out-of-state travelers are from the Philadelphia area, which makes sense, because Wilmington is very close to many parts of Philly. But, people are even traveling from further away to delight themselves in some of the delicious Delaware restaurants that people have to offer.
These Delaware Restaurants Are Attracting Visitors from All Over
The experts at Philly.eater.com have a great feature out about restaurants that are worth the drive in the general New Jersey and Delaware areas. These are spots are close to Philly, so it’s just a short drive to get there. “Sometimes you want a culinary escape that won’t break the bank,” they state. “No flights, no need to book a hotel — an experience outside of the city that you can enjoy and then return back on the same day.” Thankfully, we have a lot of great restaurants all within a small radius.
One of the Delaware restaurants that they highlight is Bardea Steak/Bardea Food & Drink in Wilmington. This spot, according to the article, “comes alive in this remarkable steakhouse that’s more than just fine cuts meats — but a masterclass in fine dining. Acclaimed Chef Antimo Dimeo is a delight as he guides diners on a culinary quest to explore the wonders of steak, seafood, pork, and poultry.” Also, on the restaurant’s official website, they boast, “Indulge in snacks from both land and sea and embark on a captivating journey with our chef’s tasting menu—an exploration of Chef DiMeo’s globetrotting inspirations and childhood memories.” Don’t forget that next door, you’ll find Bardea Food & Drink.
In a separate article from Philly.eater.com, they recognize Charcoal Pit as a spot that people travel to from outside the state, again, mainly the Philly area. “Since 1956, this iconic burger shack in Wilmington has been impressing local residents and tourists alike,” they explain. Philly.eater.com also mentions that this spot “has one of the tastiest burgers in the region — a juicy bison burger that’s served on a potato roll.” If pizza is more your thing, the same article recommends La Pizzeria Metro, a family-friendly pizzeria. As the story goes, La Pizzeria Metro owner Michael Tumolo opened Cafe Riviera at the Concord Mall back in 1981. “After decades of serving traditional New York style pizza and Italian cuisines, he established La Pizzeria Metro to bring the very best in hand-crafted, wood-fired pizza to Wilmington’s local residential neighborhoods,” they explain on their website. I think all of these spots deserve attention. They sound delicious. Happy eating.
