The Tesla Cybertruck already gives futuristic vibes but the world’s first Tesla Cyber truck police vehicle kicks it up a notch. UP.FIT, a division of Unplugged Performance, announced that it will begin modifying Tesla Cybertruck's for police use. The first deliveries are expected later this year according to the company.

What to expect from the Tesla Cybertruck police vehicle?

The Cybertruck will be fitted with an array of lights and sirens including fender-mounted spotlights along with a PA system and upgraded radio and computer systems. Departments can also have an optional front push bar, and the patrol-ready Cybertruck rides on 18-inch forged wheels.

UP.FIT said it can also modify the Cybertruck for tactical, military, and search-and-rescue operations. The company can also add prisoner partitions, weapons storage, and K9 enclosures. UP.FIT can beef up the brakes and tires too and modify the truck for "extreme off-road usage." Additionally, internet from Starlink, a subsidiary of Elon Musk's SpaceX, is also available.

People React

Some people took to Reddit to share their thoughts on Tesla’s new edition. One person said, “The same cops who are driving around in known gas guzzlers are not gonna switch over to Teslas.” Another person was more concerned about the cars body saying, “Most people in the comments under the article are saying just drive through a car wash to escape.” Someone mentioned how the vehicle resembles a car from Grand Theft Auto but “in real life.”

The company highlights the Cybertruck's "stainless steel exoskeleton," referring to it as their "most ballistics capable" vehicle, with Tesla asserting that the bodywork can endure gunfire from certain small arms. The company also commends the truck's handling and driver-assistance technology when explaining why it believes the Cybertruck is well-suited for the role.

Although no specific range or price was mentioned, UP.FIT states that its other Tesla police vehicles typically average between 270 to 300 miles of range and cost around $90,000. UP.FIT has crafted other police vehicles, with packages offered for the Model 3Model YModel S, and Model X

They also note that there is "substantial interest" in its police Cybertruck and announce that orders are now open. To learn more about UP.FIT’s Cybertruck Patrol vehicle program, visit up.fit.

“The UP.FIT Cybertruck Next-Gen Patrol vehicle represents a significant engineering leap into the future and we’re excited to offer law enforcement agencies the future of policing,” said Ben Schaffer, CEO of Unplugged Performance.

“We’ve been thrilled with the direct feedback from police departments that have participated in our Cybertruck development and we look forward to deploying these complete UP.FIT vehicles to law enforcement agencies across the nation this year,” he said.
