Christmas Gifts Needed For Delaware Children Ages 12-14
With the holiday season in full swing, now is the time that we recognize the needs of the less fortunate in our Delaware communities. The Salvation Army of Dover is asking those that can, to help our neighbors in need thru the annual Red Kettle Campaign. This year, they are particularly in need of toys for Delaware children ages 12-14.
“There is no doubt the need is great again this year,” said Captain Reginald Mountour, Corps Officer for The Salvation Army of Dover Delaware. “We give our heartfelt thanks to Delawareans who support our Christmas assistance programs every year. We know the holidays will be especially challenging for many. This year, in particular, we have are running low and are looking for support with toys for Delaware children, especially for those aged 12-14, and to Love Beyond for those who come to us for assistance. Our approach is what we call ‘The Delaware Way’ – neighbors helping neighbors across our communities.”
“Without the help from our community members, we will not reach that little child who is on the verge of not having a Christmas this year,” said Captain Montour.
This year Salvation Army’s holiday message is “Love Beyond Christmas,” and is meant to build awareness for individuals and families who continue to be impacted by poverty during the holiday season and year-round – whether they are homeless, on the verge of eviction, or hungry.
