8 Romantic Restaurants In Wilmington For Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is just around the corner, just about a week away.  According to National Day Calendar, Valentine’s Day began as St. Valentine’s Day, a liturgical celebration of one or more early Christian saints named Valentinus. February 14th first became associated with romantic love during the High Middle Ages as the tradition of courtly love was then flourishing. During 18th century England, this day evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending Valentine cards.    

This year, you might be looking for a new romantic spot to try with your loved one on Valentine's Day.  Or, maybe you waited too long to get a reservation?  And you get can't in at your favorite spot, or theirs, which might be a problem.  Haha  We're here to help.

Located at 1314 Washington St Wilmington, DE 19801.  Dorcea is an inviting American bistro with lots of local beers on tap in Wilmington, DE. You'll find options from Jambalaya to Korean Salmon.  Open for dinner every day, except Monday.

Recently, Dorcea has been named a finalist for Best American Restaurant in the annual Best of Delaware awards.

Located at 1020 N Union St Ste B Wilmington, DE 19805.  Eclipse Bistro is open daily for dinner and Monday thru Friday for lunch.  Menu items include Seared Scallops, Duck Breast and Italian Sausage Stroganoff.  

Located at 111 W 11th St Wilmington, DE 19801.  Tonic Seafood & Steak is a finalist in two categories in the Best of Delaware, including best Wilmington/Center City Restaurant and Best Restaurant Wine List Update.  Happy Hour Monday - Friday from 3pm to 6pm and open daily for lunch and dinner. 

Located at 1601 Concord Pike Wilmington, DE 19803.  Snuff Mill offers a signature dish of Ponzu Oysters with Osetra Caviar.  Open Tuesday - Friday for lunch and dinner, dinner only on Saturdays and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Located at 415 N Lincoln St Wilmington, DE 19805.  Luigi Vitrone's Pastabilities Restaurant serves regional Italian cuisine.  Chef Luigi was featured on Guy Fieri's Food Network show, 'Diners Drive-Ins & Dives'.  He's a local celebrity here in the Wilmington area.  Pastabilities is open Tuesday thru Saturday with seating's beginning at 5:15pm with last seating at 9pm.

Located at 1601 Concord Pike Ste 43-47 Independence Mall Wilmington, DE 19803.  This is personally one of my favorites for a romantic choice.  It's actually my favorite restaurant hands down, for any occasion.  The Melting Pot is a four course fondue experience with cheese, salad, entrée and of course, chocolate.  Open daily for dinner.

Located at 2216 Pennsylvania Ave Wilmington, DE 19806.  Columbus Inn is a favorite here in Wilmington.  Open at 4:30pm Monday – Saturday,  and for Sunday Brunch- 10am-2pm.  Chef Ross Essner’s fiercely seasonal menu consists of elegant American dishes with a contemporary twist.

Located at 101 S Market St Wilmington, DE 19801.  This has got to be another one of my favorites because of the location.  Banks' is open for lunch, dinner and cocktails right on the Wilmington Riverfront.
