Street art can make a huge difference in many parts of a busy city. It’s a major attraction for tourists and locals alike and Philadelphia murals are some of the best street art, according to USA Today.
Some of the most extraordinary public pieces are located in Philly.
Philadelphia Murals
Murals cover some of the biggest building facades throughout the city. Back in 1984, Mural Arts Philadelphia was founded. Mural Arts Philadelphia is the nation’s largest public art program, dedicated to the belief that art ignites change.
For over 35 years, they have united artists and communities through a collaborative process. Rooted in the traditions of mural-making, their mission is to create art that transforms public spaces and individual lives.
MAP has produced more than 4,000 murals. The Love Letter project is a series of 50 rooftop murals that are visible from the Market-Frankford elevated line. This was completed about a decade ago. Check out some of their newest projects today by visiting their website.
