Bed Bath & Beyond Is Closing But You Can Still Buy Their Products
The news was released a few months ago. It sent everyone into a frenzy. Bed Bath & Beyond Is Closing But You Can Still Buy Their Products.
Bed Bath & Beyond filed for bankruptcy in April. The company’s 360 locations, along with its 120 buybuy BABY stores, remained open after their announcement. The company was trying to keep some stores from closing while selling off others.
The retailer’s name, intellectual property and digital assets were purchased by Overstock.com for $21.5 million, according to court documents released Thursday.
According to 6ABC, Overstock’s bid was the first and ultimately the most lucrative for Bed Bath & Beyond’s assets, setting the minimum price.
Ten Twenty Four, a software company, also bid for the Beyond.com domain and will buy it if Overstock’s deal falls through.
A hearing is set for next Tuesday to finalize the purchase. Overstock didn’t immediately return CNN’s request for comment.
The buybuyBaby chain, which BB&B owns, is being sold off in a separate sales process. This portion of the company is actually helping to keep the brand alive due to its popularity.
The bad news? You can’t use those old 20% off coupons on Overstock’s website. And the storefront stopped accepting them back in early May.
