Food Bank Of Delaware To Open Milford Cafe Later This Year

The Food Bank of Delaware has been serving local families by distributing millions of pounds of food each year.

Their mobile food pantries have brought meals to the communities who are not able to travel for assistance.

Each year, they find a new way to continue to serve the families in our area that may be food insecure.

They have a five-acre farm in Newark provides a supply of fresh local produce for members of the community.

Through Stand By Me Benefits Outreach, the food bank offers job training in the areas of food service and warehousing/logistics, nutrition education, financial coaching.

Currently, they are working on a new facility in Milford that will provide even more of the amazing services already available through the Food Bank Of Delaware.

The new location will include a cafe that will be open to the public and serve as a place to provide hands-on culinary training.

There will be a large culinary training kitchen with simultaneous training classes.
The facility will also include an on-site Healthy Pantry Center. This center will be set up like a grocery store so families can choose the foods best for their household.
A training space will be added for their warehousing and logistics training programs. Outside they will implement a 3.5-acre garden for growing their own foods.
Finally, there will be more cold storage to make it easier to accept more fresh, nutritious donations.
This new build is a win-win for the community it serves.

So which ones are really the most generous and which are the least? The list ranks top to bottom, from least generous to most generous.
