Taylor spend the first 10 years of her life in Berks County PA.   She was born in 1989 and raised in Wyomissing PA, outside of Reading.

This area is served by Philadelphia radio and TV stations and is part of the extended Delaware Valley.  Taylor spent family summer vacations in Stone Harbor, Cape May County New Jersey.  So it’s only natural that when she brought the Era’s tour to Lincoln Financial Field, she would consider these her “hometown” shows.

With Philly being the closest town on the tour to the area she spent her early years, I say why not claim Philly as your hometown Taylor!

Oddly enough, not everyone agrees with Taylor’s passion that Philly is her hometown, which I think is just silly.

I was proud that she considered an area that WJBR serves as her home area.  I loved the good vibes Taylor’s 3 shows and the tens of thousands of Swifties brought to our region the entire Mothers Day Weekend.

Having been a lifelong resident of the Delaware Valley Region and having gone to many concerts over the  years, I’ve never seen anything like it!

Taylor took to social media thanking us!

She said “Philly was a dream”!

Dover Is Home To Delaware’s Best Bloody Mary

EVERYONE has a different Bloody Mary recipe.

EVERYONE also claims their Bloody is the best Bloody around.

Either way you squeeze it, the Bloody Mary is a polarizing cocktail.

It could either get your day started, or help you get over the night before.

The famous drink has been around for a LONG time.

The story goes that a young bartender named Fernand “Pete” Petiot invented the Bloody Mary at Harry’s New York Bar in Paris in 1921. At that time, Harry’s was a hangout for US expats seeking the familiarity of an American style bar in the days of prohibition and it became popular with many stars of the day including Humphrey Bogart, Ernest Hemingway and Rita Hayworth. I shockingly know some people whose go-to drink is the Bloody Mary, but I have always known it as a hangover cure.

Of course a little “hair of the dog” helps, but the other ingredients in the mixer are sure to wake you up the day after a full shift at the local watering hole.

Tomato juice and salt can really help replace and retain the electrolytes you may have lost late in the evening.

The Bloody is packed with Vitamin C and B6 both known to help recover.

Of course adding your favorite alcohol to the drink will keep pushing your hangover back…because you are just loading up on more spirits.

The drink can also aid as a catalyst to get your appetitive back on track. The mix of ingredients help stimulate your belly and tastebuds.

As summer approaches and the days get longer, as well as the nights, a Bloody Mary in the morning can help that beach trip be a little more bearable.

    One YELP review said “Went for brunch this past Sunday and were pleasantly surprised. I like making my own Bloody Mary, since I like it done spicy and in a specific way, anyway…I ordered one and asked for it spicy and was excellent! Was made exactly like I would have done and ingredients tasted fresh.”

    The Starboard is easily the most recommended Bloody Mary when I ask around for a good one! They have 3 distinct Bloodys and one even comes with crab and shrimp!

    The name says it all! Located at 222 Rehoboth Ave Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971  this place has EVERYTHING you need to make your own concoction at home.

  • 1. McGlynn's Pub & Restaurant

    McGlynn’s Pub & Restaurant is located in Dover. This YELP review sums up their Bloody Marys: “Brunch on Sunday is nice with make your own Bloody Mary drinks.  They have over 20  different varieties of these Bloody Mary drinks.” THEY HAVE SO MANY OPTIONS!
