Wilmington Family Competes On Family Feud Today
For fans of the classic gameshow Family Feud there will be a local twist on today’s show!
According to Yahoo! “The Fletcher family from Wilmington will compete on the show on Tuesday, May 16. A family of 10 siblings, five of the eight Fletcher sisters will take the stage to represent Delaware.”
The episode will air locally on The CW Philly 57 and you can find the full schedule here.
The Fletcher Family answered the call and were surprised when they got selected!
The Fletchers said the other contestants were super friendly and roar of the crowd mixed with the show’s famous theme song had them super excited.
The family will compete in honor of their mother who passed away in 2001. Their mother Barbara Ann suffered from scleroderma, an autoimmune connective tissue and rheumatic disease that causes inflammation in the skin and other areas of the body.
She was a huge fan of the show and her family wanted to compete to help honor her.
The Fletchers of course met Steve Harvey.
Steve is just one of the long line of hosts to be at the helm on Family Feud, and might be my favorite host so far.
I used to come home from school and watch old re-runs of The Feud, so its amazing to see a local family competing on a show I have been watching forever.
“The show has had three separate runs, the first of which started in 1976. Its original run from 1976 to 1985 aired on ABC and in syndication, with Richard Dawson as host” according to Wikipedia.
Steve Harvey took over the show in 2010 and is still hosting to this day. Hard to believe he’s been steering the show for over a decade now!
