Christmas Tree Shops Could Be Closing In Delaware
The run of stores declaring bankruptcy in the past week keeps on going.
The latest with the intention of declaring bankruptcy is The Christmas Tree Shops.
The Wall Street journal is reporting that The Christmas Tree Shops has hired a law firm to prepare the necessary steps in declaring Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The Christmas Tree Shops recently rebranded as CTS in hopes to attract new consumers. Th rebrand was meant to get the message across that they sold more than Christmas goods.
“Last year it was reported that the company would be rebranded as “CTS” because people outside of New England believed they only sold Christmas trees. The CEO said at the time there were plans to open another 15 stores with the new CTS name” CBS reports.
There is still optimism that the brick and mortar Christmas Tree Shops stores could remain open after the bankruptcy filing.
CBS reports that The Christmas Tree Shops could restructure their debt and only close a small number of stores.
The Christmas Tree Shops currently operates stores in Delaware at 5450 Brandywine Parkway Wilmington, DE 19803 and at 19563 Coastal Highway #3 Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.

The Christmas Tree Shops was owned by Bed Bath & Beyond up until 2020.
