Taylor Swift performs onstage for the opening night of "Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour" at State Farm Stadium on March 17, 2023 in Swift City, ERAzona (Glendale, Arizona). The city of Glendale, Arizona was ceremonially renamed to Swift City for March 17-18 in honor of The Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift is addressing a hand injury she sustained during a recent concert. The 33-year-old singer took to Twitter on Monday (April 24) to reveal how she cut her hand in the middle of her Eras Tour show.

“For those asking how I cut my hand,” Taylor’s tweet read. “I’m totally fine and it was my fault completely – tripped on my dress hem and fell in the dark backstage while running to a quick change – braced my fall with my palm. It was all very Mercury in retrograde coded. Don’t worry about me I’m gooooood.”

So good, in fact, that Swift’s post recalled the three “insane shows” she just wrapped in Houston, Texas, noting, “I’m waking up smiling reminiscing about how much fun we all had.” She wrote, “Loving this tour so much because of the passion these crowds put into it all – seriously can’t wait for Atlanta.”

Swift’s injury occurred during her Saturday night performance at Houston’s NRG Stadium. After fans noticed the cut on Swift’s hand, they took to social media to praise the singer-songwriter for going on with the show. “Your mental and physical strength is truly inspiring. Thank you for assuring us you’re okay,” wrote one fan. “All the best making history. Wish you well. Love you loads.”

Another fan joked, “‘Cut-a-hand’, the new ‘break-a-leg’ for the next generation. Stay strong and never stop running!” While another said, “We were so worried about you.” One fan commented, “As long as you’re ok and spirits are good, keep moving on.” One fan wrote, “Many positive vibes for giving it your all for the fans, even after injury. You be careful and heal that cut super fast.”
