Food Fight At Phillies Game Gets Out Of Hand
Dollar dog nights at Citizens Bank Park only happen a couple times throughout the season.
This past Tuesday at the Phillies game, the dollar dogs were flying.
We mean that literally.
It all started with a hot dog eating contest. A kid was eating a bunch of hot dogs when all of a sudden, the crowd around him started cheering him on.
The cheering turned into the crowd encouraging the hotdog eater to eat even more. They were all so invested in this kid’s ability to down the dogs that they started buying some and throwing them towards him so he could keep going.
It seemed to all start in good fun. However, it quickly turned from a camaraderie into an all out food fight. Some people even started throwing water bottles and getting really out of hand.
One fan recounted the turn of events. Eve Bocchicchio was there with her children (ages 11 and 9). They were expecting a night of family fun.
It all started out that way despite the fact that they waited in line for 3 innings just to get some hot dogs.
Around the 8th inning, Bocchicchio recalls, people started throwing hot dogs from section 112 to 111 and everyone was laughing.

“The guy who works at the stadium game down and started yelling for people to stop,” said Bocchicchio. The warnings were ignored and the events escalated.
Bocchicchio says one woman was hit in the head with a water bottle. While it didn’t seem malicious, Bocchicchio decided it was time to grab the kids and get out of there.
Her kids were upset of course, as was she, because they spent about $400 to attend the game. But at that point, she considered her children’s safety first and got them out of there before it was too late.
Understandably so! Luckily it doesn’t appear that anyone was hurt in the incident but some of the fans that participated in the debauchery were eventually kicked out.
