Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon attend the 20th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at The Shrine Auditorium on January 18, 2014 in Los Angeles, California.

Nick Cannon still gushes about his ex-wife, Mariah Carey. The television personality recently was asked about who was the love of his life, and without any hesitation, names the mother of his first-borns.

The comedian, 42, said that Carey, 53, is “like the greatest? I mean, I always talk about that. Then it goes viral, and all her fans get mad at me. But I was 12 years old with Mariah Carey pictures on my wall, and that becomes my wife. And the fact that she’s the coolest person I ever met.”

Cannon and Carey were married from 2008 to 2016. Together, they share 11-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan. The self-declared “fearless romantic” said that the singer gives him a lot of “delightful disposition.” He continues, “She’s just always happy, always doing for others. No matter what’s happening in life. I’m like, ‘Wow, a person can really operate like that and don’t allow negative energy into their space.’ When I found that out, about how remarkable she was, that woman is not human. She’s a gift from God.”

Despite their divorce, the former couple has a good relationship with each other and co-parents their children. Back in 2019, Carey told People that she and Nick “have done pretty well in co-parenting” and “staying friends with each other so that we can talk.” Though raising twins is “a lot,” the singer wouldn’t have it any other way. “They give me so much love in return. I wouldn’t be the same person without them,” Carey said at the time.

Apart from his twins with Carey, Cannon is also a father to 12 other children: son Golden Sagon, 6, daughter Powerful Queen, 2, and son Rise Messiah Cannon, five months, with Brittany Bell; twins Zion Mixolydian and Zillion Heir, 19 months, and daughter Beautiful Zeppelin Cannon, four months, with Abby De La Rosa; son Legendary Love, nine months, with Bre Tiesi; daughter Onyx Ice Cole, six months, with LaNisha Cole; and two children with Alyssa Scott — son Zen, who died at five months old in December 2021 after being diagnosed with brain cancer, and daughter Halo Marie, three months.

Cannon talked about his role as a father while chatting with ET last month, sharing that his ultimate goal is to ensure his kids have a bright future. “It’s a blessing, man,” he told the publication. “Hopefully, because of what I am able to do, my kids can do whatever they want to do, to be able to be in a position that if they want to be a nuclear physicist, I know somebody at an Ivy League school that I could [hit up].”

Nick Cannon's Latest Child Born; Here's A Timeline of His Kids

Nick Cannon has expanded his family yet again. Now, we knew he was expecting his ninth and tenth children with Abby De La Rosa and Brittany Bell, respectively. Apparently, he also had one on the way with model Lanisha Cole. It was speculated that Lanisha was pregnant with Nick’s child but the news was never confirmed by either parent.

Nick announced the news on his IG with the comment: “Introducing ONYX ICE COLE CANNON. Once again Today I am in Awe of the Devine Feminine! God has given me and @MissLanishaCole the privilege of hosting an Angel here on earth. I vow to protect, provide, guide and love this child to the best of my abilities. I promise to love this little girl with all my heart, regardless what anyone says…I’ve given up on attempting to define myself for the world or society but instead I’m doing the work to heal and grow into the infinite Being God ordained me to be. Hopefully I can teach Onyx the same, to not let others shame or ridicule her with their outside opinions, because when they do they are only projecting their own harsh experiences, pain and social programming onto her unblemished beauty.” Nick even went on to defend Lanisha, saying “[Lanisha] is one of the most guileless, peaceful and nonconfrontational kind souls I’ve ever witnessed, and only deserves to revel in this moment of blissful joy of motherhood. Please give her that. She is so loving and pure hearted.”

Onyx Ice Cole Cannon is now Nick’s ninth child. As mentioned, he is still expecting two more children (that we know of). Are you having a hard time keeping up with all of his kids, and who he had them with? No problem: we’re here to help. Check out our timeline below.
