Former Delaware Chipotle Cashier Played SXSW 2023
Delaware folk-soul artist Sug Daniels (Danielle Johnson) is making big moves in the music industry.
Sug Daniels worked at Chipotle during the day but could be found rapping and singing at night. Daniels was part of the Dover rap trio FlowCity.
Daniels also co-founded the Wilmington blues and soul group, Hoochi Coochi about ten years ago.
This Delaware born star has been making her rounds and performed at various events last week. Recently, Daniels was found with the Black Opry Revue at Luck Reunion festival. This particular event was held in outskirts of Austin in music legend Willie Nelson’s backyard.
SXSW (South By South West) is a 10-day event in Austin, TX. The festival features musical acts from all over the country. The week and a half long event also features, comedians, film/tv stars and experts in tech, film, education and culture.
Sug Daniels’ appeared at SXSW in a showcase, presented by Weird Sister Records, at Blk Vinyl.
Don Giovanni Records in Central New Jersey is the indie label repping Daniels.
Earlier this month Daniels released her fresh single, ‘When I’m Gone.”
The song was produced by Sam Nobles, formerly of Wilmington, who now lives in Philly, according to Delaware Online.
