Wheat allergies are one of the most common food allergies amongst the population.
A wheat allergy causes your immune system to overreact to wheat. Symptoms include hives, rash, nausea, stomach cramps, nausea and diarrhea.
A wheat allergy can be deadly if not taken care of right away.
Wheat allergies can cause two different types of reactions in the body.
Immunoglobulin E mediated reactions may include anaphylaxis and can be triggered by just inhaling a wheat particle.
The other reaction is a Non-immunoglobulin E mediated reaction. This reaction can cause inflammation of your esophagus and inflammation of your stomach lining.
Trader Joe’s also recalled some of their cookies this past July for plastic particles.
So if you still have some of their Soft-Baked Snickerdoodles in the pantry be sure to check their lot number and date.
