A Delaware Couple Built A Costa Rica Retreat
The next time you sit down to plan a vacation, consider this. A Delaware Couple Built A Costa Rica Retreat.
Jade Nosara was born after Doug Ingerson first visited Costa Rica.
Nosara is a jungly village on Costa Rica’s Nicoya Peninsula. The area was mostly known for yoga retreats and surf motels.
A couple decades later, Ingerson had a vision. He wanted to build a remote sanctuary where people could escape noisy modern cultures and experience pura vida (the simple life).
According to DelawareToday, Ingerson’s business model was twofold. He and his partner Carroll Ivy would host their own retreats while renting out some space to other businesses to do the same.
Ingerson got a hold of an architect and they started drawing.
They wanted to make sure their property would be different from the other beach resorts.
Their plan was to build in a more remote area, about 2.5 hours from the airport.
A jungle envelopes the space and beaches are just a 5 minute walk away.
Hummingbirds and parakeets greet you at the main entrance. There is a community space with dining areas and kitchens open to guests to use.
A pool and yoga pavilion are situated in front of the bungalows where each guest would stay.
It’s starting to sound like heaven, right?
Needless to say, they knew what they were doing when they though up this concept.
Tropical gardens engulfed the landscape. Perfect for a quiet stroll and reflection time.
Ingerson states that each stay is tailored to your liking. Your palate and preferences are considered in your dining options.
“Since the pandemic, more people come here to get a shift and break away from everything they know in the U.S.”
