Bob Brooks of 6ABC called into the WJBR studios this morning. He spoke with Deanna and Justin In The Morning about THON.
This amazing fundraiser draws thousands of people and raises millions each year. Brooks is a Penn State Alum and is proud to boost the event and attend to show his support.
He spoke of how inspiring it is to see. From the patients and their families to the support they receive, Brooks spoke of how moved he is to witness it all.

Bob Brooks Talks Penn State THON With Deanna And Justin In The Morning
As the world’s largest student-run philanthropy, THON raises millions of dollars each year. These funds go to pediatric cancer research. The event brings thousands of visitors to the University Park campus each year.
This year, more than 700 dancers are expected. Dancers will stand on their feet for 46 hours to raise money for Four Diamonds.
Entrance to THON is free and open to the public. Members of the public unable to attend in person will be able to watch the event remotely. Log on to the THON Livestream hosted on the official THON website.

On Tuesday, February 14th 2023, members of the community gathered to give back.
Hosted by WJBR and the Blood Bank of Delmarva, the 2nd Annual You’re Someone’s Type Blood Drive Was A Success.
Thanks to the Tallyville Fire Company for hosting a comfortable space for everyone to contribute.
Over the past year we’ve experienced a blood crisis. In a severe blood shortage, medical professionals were nervous regarding the blood supply.
According to the Blood Bank of Delmarva, the need for blood donations remains urgent. Type O Rh negative and platelets are critical right now.
If you are healthy and in a position to give blood, please consider doing so.
The process is quick and painless. Many common myths about donating blood are:
You can’t do so if you have recently gotten a piercing or tattoo.
The truth is, if you haven’t received either in the last 3 months you can absolutely donate!
