Wilmington Principal Named Eagles’ Fan Of The Year
I have met a lot of people who claim to be someone’s biggest fan. But Matt Auerbach can actually say that and prove it!
Auerbach is the Principal at Mount Pleasant Elementary School in Wilmington, Delaware.
His students and staff know him to be the biggest Eagles’ fan they’ve ever met.
You can see the proof in the pudding according to everyone who’s ever been in his office.
“Behind the desk, a Go Birds sticker adorns the wall. An Eagles baseball cap signed by team legends Jerome Brown and Mike Quick sits on the bookshelf. On the wall hangs one of his treasured belongings — a framed print of Hall of Famer Reggie White”, WHYY reports.
He’s known for spontaneously breaking into the Eagles’ Victory Song — even at music concerts and the halls of the school.
I guess it’s no surprise that he has been named the Fan of the Year.
In addition to holding the title and bragging rights, he will be attending the Super Bowl in Arizona!
As a lifelong fan and season ticket holder for the last couple decades, this has got to be a pretty exciting year to be a fan.
Auerbach and his wife Sara will be the NFL’s guests on Feb. 12 at the Super Bowl. He will join 31 other contestants for NFL Fan of the Year, and also appear with the Chief’s top fan on Fox’s pregame television broadcast.
Auerbach was nominated by his family.
His love for the team does not go unnoticed.
You can catch the Wilmington Principal Named Eagles’ Fan Of The Year during the live broadcast. The two-hour program at 9 p.m. on Feb. 9 will be broadcast live on NBC, with the league’s top fan being announced during the show.
Delco Eagles Pep Parade
Delco Eagles Pep Parade did not disappoint, and WJBR was there!
I’ve lived in the Media PA area for over 30 years, and this town has always had great parades!
State Street, where normally the Septa 101 Trolly shares the street with vehicles, is the perfect street for a parade!
Throughout the year Media borough hosts parades on various holidays and in the summer the street shuts down for Dining Under The Stars, where State Street becomes an out door dining patio!
State Street is also great when there are not any events at all. Its a great old fashioned Main Street where you can stroll up and down the sidewalks, and the dining and adult beverage options are endless!
The street is also lined with many gift shops if you are looking for something unique to give!
I’d like to invite listeners in and around Wilmington to take the short drive here and enjoy the town.
Today Media and all of Delco came out by the thousands to celebrate our Philadelphia Eagles! The count down to Super Bowl 57 is on!
The Delco Eagles Pep Parade kicked off at 3pm and was lead by The Eagles Pep Band. They performed the only song anyone wants to her at an Eagles Pep Rally! They probably lost count how many times they played “Fly Eagles Fly”!
Kane Kalas, the son of the late legendary Philadelphia broadcaster (and Media resident) Harry Kalas, was the pep rally’s host. He too sang “Fly Eagles Fly” and lead the crowd in the “E A G L E S EAGLES” chant.
As you see in the photos below, all the makings of a parade in “Everybody’s Hometown” were there. Classic cars, fire trucks, a few Mummers and many civic minded businesses from the region.
Go Birds!
