St. Mark’s High School Wins Regional Art And Writing Awards
Celebrations are in order as St. Mark’s High School wins regional art and writing awards.
Twenty-seven students earned top honors in this year’s Delaware Regional Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Five of those students earned Gold Key status and will be moving onto the
national competition.
“The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards is the nation’s longest-running and most prestigious recognition program for creative teens. Students in grades 7-12 (age 13 and up) are invited to enter their creative works for the chance to win recognition, publication, exhibition, and scholarships” according to a press release.
St. Mark’s Principal Diane Casey constantly is in awe of the talent of their students. She says they amaze and impress her on a daily basis.
English Department Chair Rebecca Harvey is beaming with pride. “National Scholastic Writing is one of the most prestigious writing contests in the country,” she said.

Students will be recognized at a virtual awards ceremony to be held at Delaware State University on February 11. Gold Key winners will have their works displayed in Delaware State University’s gallery from January 23 until February 11.
