About United Way of Delaware
United Way has been serving the community for 75 years. At United Way of Delaware, they believe equity is everyone’s responsibility.
Since 1946, they’ve partnered with leaders to bring opportunity to every corner of our state.
Even though the fight is long from over, they know what’s possible when we all work together.
United Way believes when we LIVE UNITED against inequity, we can drive long-term change faster.
So that, over the next 75 years, we can make Delaware and Salem County (NJ) better for everyone.
United Way gets involved in the community in several ways.
United Way creates programs to help children read better. They invest in community programs that align with their initiatives. They organization also partners with other non-profits to help strengthen their mission. Finally, they encourage people to join in the fight to improve life for everyone.
After all, it’s when we work together as a community that we are able to make a better place for everyone.
Since it’s inception, United Way has worked hard to create a better community and you can help.
If you were ever interested in becoming more involved, they have several ways for you to do that.
United Way accepts monetary donations to help run their day-to-day efforts and support initiatives. You can advocate. In other words, use your voice. Lawmakers vote on public policy all the time. An advocate is someone who publicly supports or rejects policies created by lawmakers. So in order to advocate properly, you need to know which bills leaders are working to pass.
Lastly, you can volunteer your time. Check their site for more info on how to get involved: https://uwde.org/get-involved/
