NY Style Martini Lounge Coming To Bucks County

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of touring the Lounge at Frost.

Frost, is a new concept to hit Doylestown, PA. Frost is a NY Style Martini Lounge that sits inside the building that once housed Bobby Simone's.

The second floor where the private lounge is located, will offer an exclusive members-only experience.

However, the first floor will be open to the public and will offer a more inclusive atmosphere. Equipped with flatscreen TVs to watch a game, you can sit with friends and enjoy some bites. Pair their food offerings with one of their carefully curated cocktails.

While touring the facility, I had a chance to speak with Uri Abrams, Managing Director at Frost. Abrams is a former Wall Street financier, but you'd never know it. The way he speaks about his ideas with such passion makes you think he's been in hospitality his whole life. His inspiration for the new hot spot came while having some drinks with friends. They wanted to create an exclusive and select environment where people could run into familiar faces.

Uri referred to the private lounge on the roof of Odette's in New Hope . This concept is what they kept in mind when designing Frost. The Covid-19 pandemic also added to the idea of a selective social club.

When the idea first came to mind for Uri and his colleagues, it was pre-pandemic. As Covid took the world by storm, more and more people subscribed to the idea of tightening their inner circle. So Uri thought, what better way to make people feel safe while still giving them a place to socialize?

Originally, the idea was to open a cowboy bar with a western flare. Then, they thought maybe they should call it "The Mirror Bar" because of how the walls downstairs were all mirrors.

Finally, they landed on Frost because of how white and sparkly the interior is.

Uri recalls time he has spent in other countries and places around the world where he enjoys the approach to nightlife. He mentions in Paris, it is an all night event to go to a cafe. You sit, you drink, you eat, you enjoy, you relax. He wants everyone to come to the Lounge at Frost to do the same. Relax.

In all of Uri's world travels, he has brought an idea back with him that he remembered. He tried to pull all those ideas together for the Lounge at Frost.

"Going out to eat food here in America, (for the most part) is a task. In Europe it's a process."

He hopes to bring that experience here, to allow everyone to enjoy without being shuffled out so the next table can be sat.

From their tapas menu to their wines from around the world, you will be able to create a wonderful experience you won't get anywhere else in the area.

Their in-house sommelier and mixologist comes from the bar at the top of the World Trade Center. If you need help choosing a wine for your table, you will be asked a series of questions that will help them carefully select one especially for you.

Uri's goal, is for Frost to be the first establishment in Doylestown to win the Wine Spectator award.

I would say, that Uri is well on his way there with this NY Style Martini Lounge Coming To Bucks County.

Memberships are $1000/year for the exclusive experience and are already SOLD OUT as of today.

You can still plan to visit the first floor of Frost, open to the general public some time later this month.

Located at 46 E.State St in Doylestown (Suite G across from Rikki Ramen).

Golden Globes 2023 Winner’s List

The 2023 Golden Globe Awards takes place live on NBC and Peacock Tuesday (January 10) night at 8  p.m. ET. It is one of the few awards ceremonies to recognize both motion picture and television achievements. As we've previously reported, NBC canceled the 2022 telecast amid an ethics, finance and diversity scandal involving the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the organization that bestows the awards. Citing extensive HFPA reforms in September, NBC agreed to return the ceremony to its air for an 80th installment — under a one-year trial, the New York Times reports.

“We recognize the HFPA’s commitment to ongoing change and look forward to welcoming back the Golden Globes to NBC for its landmark 80th Anniversary in January 2023,” said Frances Berwick, Chairman, Entertainment Networks, NBCUniversal Television and Streaming. Helen Hoehne, President of the HFPA added, “The HFPA remains committed to important changes and supporting programs that prioritize diversity, inclusion, and transparency."

The HFPA previously announced the introduction of 103 new voters to its ranks, marking the first time international-based voters have been added to the voting pool. This diverse voting body is now represented by 62 different countries around the world. Combined with the current HFPA membership, the total Golden Globe Awards voting body is now 52% female, 51.5% racially and ethnically diverse, with 19.5% Latinx, 12% Asian, 10% Black and 10% Middle Eastern.

Eddie Murphy has been confirmed to receive one of the night’s highest honors, the Cecil B. DeMille Award, given as a way to honor “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment,” per the Hollywood Foreign Press Association. The selection is made by the HFPA’s board of directors. Murphy, 61, is a six-time Golden Globe nominee, winning one trophy in 2007 for his critically acclaimed role in Dreamgirls. He was nomimated for 48 Hrs., Trading Places, Beverly Hills Cop, The Nutty Professor and Dolemite Is My Name. Presenters include Jenna Ortega, Jennifer Hudson, Claire Danes, Cole Hauser, Harvey Guillén, Henry Golding, Hilary Swank, Glen Powell, Jay Ellis, Jennifer Coolidge, Letitia Wright, Mo Brings Plenty, Regina Hall, Salma Hayek Pinault, Billy Porter, Niecy Nash-Betts, Quentin Tarantino, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tracy Morgan, Ana De Armas, Ana Gasteyer, Colman Domingo, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Natasha Lyonne and Nicole Byer.
