Nothing beats the feel of a local watering hole. Here’s Delaware’s best Irish pub according to Eat This, Not That.

It’s Catherine Rooney’s in Wilmington!

According to Eat This, Not That “Located in Trolley Square, this Wilmington pub aims to make you feel like family and serves excellent fish and chips. Don’t skip the Celtic burger, which is served with Irish cheddar and rashers.”

On reviewer on Yelp describes Catherin Rooney’s and their visit there “Stopped into here for the first time to catch up with an old high school friend. Went around happy hour and sat outside. Our entire time spent here was lovely. Our server Angela was on the ball. She recommended a hard cider they had on tap (which was delicious) and was knowledgeable of the menu. 5 star service and great food is hard to beat.”

Eat This, Not That also ranked neighboring state’s Irish Pubs. Pennsylvania’s winner was Mullaney’s Harp & Fiddle in Pittsburgh.

The website described the bar as a quaint pub with an ample whiskey selection and top-notch pub grub.

New Jersey’s best Irish Pub was The Shannon Rose in Ramsey. They described the bar and it’s menu!

“The chef-driver menu includes all the traditional favorites with an expert touch and local-infused flavor. Plus, with over 30 beers on tap and over 40 whiskies, bourbon, and scotches, there’s a tipple for everyone.”

Speaking of Irish Pubs in Delaware, Murph’s in Wilmington was recently ranked as the best dive bar in the first state.

We love Murph’s at WJBR, we even learned how to make some St. Patrick’s day cocktails there this year!

Side note: the Guinness stew was to die for! It’s worth stopping in for! Trust us!

Portnoy has still yet to make a trip to Delaware, so this is the best we can get, when it comes to proximity of Delaware.

He’s been to Pennsylvania on many, many occasions, but this time he made stops at Pizza West Chester and West Chester Pizza Cafe.
