Delaware Low-Digit Plate Registration Is Open
Halloween has come and gone which means the Delaware low-digit plate registration is open.
With registration underway residents interested in obtaining one of the coveted plates can out their name in the running now.
You can register up until, and by, Sunday November 13th by clicking here.
The Delaware Department of Motor Vehicles will then continue to draw winners of the low digit plates until December 1st 2022.
Note there will be no drawings on November 24th and 25th and no drawings on the weekends.
The DMV is calling the promotion the “12 Days of PLATE-mas.”
Owners of the 5-digit or lower plates are eligible for the black or white historical plates as well. These plates are different than the widely available version as they are porcelain or steel in make.
The DMV says that a total of 405 low digit plates will be available across six different classifications.
Winners will be notified via email and can check their lottery numbers across the DMV’s social media pages as well.
According to DelawarePublic.org “All winners will receive a standard blue and gold license plate upon completing their title work. If they qualify and wish to purchase a black and white tag once they have completed their title work with DMV, they can do so through the Delaware Historic Plate Co.”
The Delaware Department of Motor Vehicles listed the following classes eligible for the low-digit plates:
PV – 5 Digit – Numbers Only (Under 10,000 lbs. registered vehicle weight)
T – Trailer (regular trailers – utility, flat-bed or non-camping trailers)
PC – Passenger Car (Under 10,000 lbs. registered vehicle weight)
C – Commercial
RT – Recreational Trailer (camping trailers 5,000 lbs. and over, not regular trailers – see above)
MC – Motorcycle (above 55cc’s)
