PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA - OCTOBER 23: Members of the Philadelphia Phillies celebrate after defeating the San Diego Padres in game five to win the National League Championship Series at Citizens Bank Park on October 23, 2022 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Phillies are in the World Series – what  you need to know is right here!

The last time the Phillies were in a playoff series was all the way back in 2011 when they lost to the St. Louis Cardinals in the National League Divisional Series.

What a difference a decade and a year makes!  This time the Phillies beat St. Louis in this year’s National League Wild Card Series.

Then it was on to the National League Divisional Series with last year World Series Champions, Atlanta Braves.  The Phillies won that series 3 games to 1.

Their unlikely journey to the World Series then brought them to the National League Championship Series, where they split games in San Diego.  Then it was home to the friendly, loud and spirited Citizens Bank Park!  The fans, Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber and this very special team win all 3 games at home this weekend.  The Phils win the National League Pennant and now we have all this week to gear up for the Phillies first World Series appearance since 2009!

The Phillies have won 2 World Series in their history.  All the way back in 1980 and in 2008.

While odds makers say the Astros are the favorite in the series (mainly because the win 106 games this season vs. the Phillies 87 wins)…nothing can beat this Phillies team’s proven resilience!
