Goodwill Launches Online Store

A dream come true for thrifters!

Goodwill went digital. Goodwillfinds.com is a new website where you can browse roughly 100,000 pieces of second hand merch without having to visit a location near you.

This is a new inception since their previously launched ShopGoodWill website where items are auctioned. You cannot click and purchase those items. On their new site however, you can do just that.

According to NPR, the new website will help fund Goodwill's community-based programs across the U.S.

The vision for GoodwillFinds came from a consortium of Goodwill members throughout the country.

It will also provide professional training, job placement and youth mentorship. It should also increase donations, while also helping to expand its base of customers

Goodwillfinds.com features search tools that let shoppers browse by category. Unlike rivals like Thredup and Poshmark, customers cannot use the site to make donations, and will still have visit a local Goodwill store to drop them off.

Shipping costs will vary since the items may be coming from other locations across the US. Eventually their plan at Goodwill is to personalize shopping based on each customer's previous purchase, to show you things you may like.

When items are donated to the organization, the staff will decide whether or not the item will do well online. Each item will be inspected, the condition of the item will be considered. From there, it will either be posted online or not. Either way, all items donated will remain in the store front that accepted it, and will be available for purchase in person.

Goodwill also says they will be accepting returns for any purchases that may arrive damaged or if the order was incorrect.

They do accept all major credit cards and paypal, but no apple pay just yet.
