Mount Pleasant High School Will Perform “Frozen”!
The United States of Frozen
A nationwide contest called The United States of Frozen: Love is an Open Door competition was open to any high school in the U.S., including U.S. territories. Well, many submitted but only one was chosen. Mount Pleasant High School was ecstatic to learn that they had been selected to perform the coveted story. The applicants were asked to explain how they would use their production based on three categories. To strengthen their school community, provide outreach to underserved groups, and support inclusive and diverse theatre programs. The winning schools receive rights for up to three performances of Frozen; free access to the work’s digital script, score, and orchestrations; a video license, and more.
Mount Pleasant High School
Mount Pleasant is a comprehensive high school located in the northern suburbs of Wilmington, Delaware. There are approximately 1,000 students enrolled in grades 9 through 12. They are ranked the #2 comprehensive public high school. Recently, they have had even more to celebrate. The faculty and students alike were very excited to find out that they were selected to perform “Frozen” as one of their shows for the 2022/23 school year.
Interview with Deanna & Justin
Chris Turner, the Drama Director and Hope Munsen, a junior and member of the Tech Crew visited the WJBR studios this week. They both chatted with Deanna and Justin about their excitement and plans for the production.
While there are many details to iron out, Chris and Hope’s wheels are already turning as they have some ideas for the show. Deanna & Justin got some inside info including dates and times of the upcoming performances.
