Free Financial Classes…For Children?
Most of us have realized as we’ve grown older, that we learned how to budget our finances way too late in life. Imagine if we had been taught how to balance a checkbook in highschool. We would be so much better equipped for the real world. That’s what one local non-profit is hoping to accomplish with their free financial classes for children.
The Family Life Project is a non-profit primarily focused on providing family services to the community. They aim to assist families is building healthy habits and relationships. The Family Life Project has recently partnered with TD Bank to provide a series of classes for children ages 10-14. These classes will focus on financial literacy in an effort to help them prepare for their future.
The Dream Savers Program is being held at the Brandywine Hundred Public Library in Wilmington. The Library hosts a variety of classes that are free to the community. You can inquire through the Library about signing up for the classes held by the Family Life Project.
It’s been proven that children who have a healthy understanding of finances tend to be more stable and independent as they become adults. Sounds good, right? Wouldn’t you like to get your kids out of your house and into their own place a lot sooner?
