Time Capsule From 1953 Found In New Castle County
Great Scott! What’s inside the time capsule that was found in New Castle County? Construction crews working on the property of the old Drew Education Support Center building found a time capsule from 1953.
The building on South College Avenue in Newark is being turned into a brand new school. The Bancroft School will be the first new school in the area in decades. Formerly the district’s administrative office, the building is currently a site for old artifacts.
The Christina School District is investing $84 million into what will be the new Bancroft School. The project is fully funded by the state of Delaware.
There have been many guesses about what’s inside the time capsule, but the mystery will be revealed tonight. The District Board of Education meets at 7pm tonight, August 9th at 700 N. Lombard Street in Wilmington. At the meeting, they will break open the box and reveal its contents.
All are welcome to attend. If for some reason you cannot make the meeting you can stream live at http://www.christinak12.org/BOE-Meeting
