Famous Candy Store is Coming to Milton
Dolle’s Candyland is opening a new location! The famous candy store is moving to Milton.
Construction is currently underway on a new location for the well-known candy stop. The new location will be on Route 1 in Milton.
The candy stop has been in operation since 1910 and was founded in Ocean City, Maryland.
The candy land moved to Rehoboth just over a decade later. The shop resided on the corner of Rehoboth Avenue and the Boardwalk until its departure in 2021.
According to the Cape Gazette the new store is scheduled to open in November of this year.
Dolle’s currently resides inside of Ibach’s by the Sea only just a few stores down from it’s old location. Tom Ibach is the owner of that store and is the grandson of the original Dolle’s owners.
The new site has been approved to be 5,125 square feet and include 12 new parking spaces.
If you know where Steamboat Landing Road is the new Dolle’s will be just north of there on the same side of the road.
You may remember the iconic and memorable large orange sign Dolle’s had on the boardwalk. You also may remember that it was removed a couple year’s back.
The Dolle’s sign is currently on the side of the Rehoboth Museum and it looks like the new location will not inherit the infamous signage. But I’m sure you’ll feel some nostalgia as Dolle’s famous candy store is coming to Milton.
Dolle’s is known for so many candies including salt water taffy, caramel corn, fudge, varieties of chocolates, brittles, and mellow mint sticks.
According to Dolle’s website they are Delaware’s oldest candymaker! They still use old fashioned formulas and techniques to produce their sweets and the ingredients and flavorings are high quality and contain no preservatives.
