The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) is a trade association and lobby group that represents the interests of commercial and non-commercial over-the-air radio and television broadcasters in the United States.

In 1989 the NAB named a new yearly award after inventor of radio and Nobel Prize winner Guglielmo Marconi.  Each year the NAB Marconi Radio Awards are given to radio stations and outstanding on-air personalities to recognize excellence in radio.

WJBR is proud to announce that on the heels of just winning the NAB’s Service To America Award for outstanding public service, WJBR has also been nominated to receive a Marconi Award.  This is radio’s “Oscar”!  And we are very proud and excited to be nominated.

WHBC-AM, Canton, Ohio
WJBR-FM, Wilmington, Del.
WOWO-AM, Fort Wayne, Ind.
WSGW-AM, Saginaw, Mich.
WUSY-FM, Chattanooga, Tenn.

This October winning stations will be honored at the NAB’s Radio Show in New York.

This nomination would not have been possible without our gifted team of broadcasters supported by a wonderful community of Delaware listeners and advertisers.

We are so honored.  Thanks for listening!  We work hard everyday to create great radio for YOU!

Top 10 New Jersey, Maryland and Delaware Beaches Picked By JBR Listeners

Probably like you, I’m a big fan of our regions beaches! I grew up at the New Jersey shore and spent many years hitting all the beach towns of Atlantic and Cape May County. Since those days I’ve added the Delaware beaches and the beaches of Maryland to our families list of regular visits.

When my kids were young, we were day trippers to Strathmere NJ, one of the few free beaches in the Garden State. We also took too many to count family camping trips to Assateague Island National Seashore just south of Ocean City MD.

Now that my wife and I are empty nesters, we enjoy the Delaware beaches. Just this summer so far we’ve enjoyed time in Lewes, Cape Henlopen, Rehoboth and Dewey.

Last week I wanted to know what beaches YOU (our WJBR listeners) love! So, I put the question up on our Facebook page asking for your favorite beaches in our WJBR listening area of Delaware, New Jersey and Maryland.
