Get In Free At The Delaware State Fair
Get in free at the Delaware State Fair AND help out your neighbors at the same time!
The Delaware State Fair kicks off July 21st and runs through the 30th. The Fair returns for its 103rd year in Harrington.
Fair attendees that bring five canned goods to the fair will receive free admission. They can also bring boxed goods but all items must be Food Lion branded items.
According to 1st State Update the offer is good July 25th from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Donations will stay local as they will benefit families in Kent and Sussex counties.
The food drive is part of the 11th annual “Food Lion Feeds Hunger Relief Day” and is a complete community effort.
The donated goods will be accepted at all gates at the fair and will accepted by volunteers. The Food Bank of Delaware and Food Lion appreciates all donations but will not accept anything that is stored in glass.
The annual food drive isn’t the only thing you can get into at the Delaware State Fair either, you can also enjoy some live musical acts. Trace Adkins, Sam Hunt, even Hank Williams Jr. will be stopping by the grounds in Harrington. ZZ Top and Nelly will also pass through.
The fair will also feature new attractions! A wild west show and bmx stunt show is planned.
There will also be a giant 2,000 pound butter sculpture on display. The fair features the theme of “Summer Nights and Carnival Lights” and the theme of the 2,000 pound butter sculpture will follow that theme.
I’m personally hoping for a butter ferris wheel or roller coaster. If those events don’t spark your interest…the Circus is also back!
