Dolly Parton Appeared & Performed At The Wilmington Library
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Dolly Parton appeared and performed at The Wilmington Library today. How cool is that?
Dolly was hosted by Delaware Governor & First Lady Carney, in Wilmington, for a statewide celebration of Dolly’s Imagination Library. The Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income.
Dolly talked to the Governor and First Lady about what she has going on right now, including her new Christmas special in production with NBC, and being inducted yesterday into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Dolly said she never thought of herself as a rock star, but is thrilled to be inducted into the hall of fame. She went on to say, above all, she is most proud of her Imagination Library project. The project was inspired by her father who could not read. Her hope was to help kids read at an early age.
After the chat, she picked up her guitar and treated the audience to a performance.
Dolly wrapped up her appearance by saying, “God Bless You Delaware”!
How cool to have this legendary, hall of famer in our own backyard! If you were lucky enough to be there, let us know what the experience was like.
