The Last Three Spider-Men Recreate Spider-Man Pointing Meme
Tom Holland attends the "Uncharted" photocall at cinema Publicis Champs-Elysees on February 11, 2022 in Paris, France. Andrew Garfield attends the "tick, tick...Boom" screening & conversation at 92nd Street Y on February 22, 2022 in New York City. Actor/producer Tobey Maguire attends the "Pawn Sacrifice" premiere during the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival at Roy Thomson Hall on September 11, 2014 in Toronto, Canada.
It’s about time we got the recreation of the Spider-Man pointing meme! You can’t reunite former webslingers Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire with Tom Holland if you’re not going to recreate the iconic meme, taken from the ’60s Spider-Man cartoon.
To promote the home release of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Sony and Marvel have released an image of all three stars in their respective Spidey suits pointing at each other with a caption that read: “Of course, we got THE meme.” One Instagrammer wrote, “now i can rest in peace.”
Per Entertainment Weekly, the original meme is based on an image from the episode “Double Identity” from the 1960s Spider-Man cartoon. In it, Spidey comes face-to-face with a Spider-Man copycat. The scene has sparked many variations, including one from the makers of 2018’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, who offered their own take in the end credits of the movie.
Spider-Man: No Way Home will debut on digital on March 22 and on 4K UHD and Blu-ray on April 12. But you can enjoy the meme brought to life for free right now.
