BEVERLY HILLS, CA - APRIL 12: Halle Berry celebrates achievements in LGBTQ community at the 29th Annual GLAAD Media Awards Los Angeles, in partnership with LGBTQ ally, Ketel One Family-Made Vodka at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on April 12, 2018 in Beverly Hills, California.
Halle Berry’s fight scenes in her new film Bruised are not the only batttles she has to worry about. Berry, 55, is getting sued by former UFC fighter, Cat Zingano, who claims Berry offered her a role in her new film but ghosted her, per gossip site TMZ. According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Zingano claims she met with Berry back in July of 2019 to talk about a film the 55-year-old was directing and claims the actress said she was “perfect for the project.”Zingano also stated Berry told her to keep her schedule open because production was soon approaching but then she says the UFC called with a big fight offer. Per the legal docs obtained but the outlet, Zingano claims she told Berry about the UFC fight offer where Berry then advised her that if she wanted to be a part of the film she should decline the fight offer citing there might be concerns with the film’s insurer.
Ultimately, after going back and forth between the fight and the film, Zingano turned down the fight and the UFC released her from her contract. According to the suit, Zingano told Berry about the UFC releasing her from her contract and she was shocked when Berry told her she could not be a part of the film because they could only work with UFC fighters.
Zingano claims Berry has cut off all communications from her and she is now suing for damages since Berry did not hold up her part of the bargain.
