The 2021 Firefly Music Festival is coming up, and the lineup is exciting! Let’s give a spotlight to the small and new artists on the list. Here’s a few of them that you cannot miss at Firefly!

• Kim Petras

  The German singer songwriter is set to wow the stage. Based in Los Angeles, Petras has been releasing her electronic dance and pop music as an independent artist for the past 5 years. She started her music career when she was a teenager! Recently, she has collaborated with Charli XCX on her TikTok viral song “Unlock it (Lock it)”. Her other notable songs include “Broken Glass” and “Heart to Break”.

• Des Rocs

  “I’m here to drag rock and roll into the 21st century kicking and screaming if I have to.” says Des Rocs. “It’s what I was put on this Earth to do.” This New Yorker first began by playing with a variety of groups touring The Struts, Weezer, Fall Out Boy, and more. After going solo, he started releasing music from his bedroom. His debut EP, “Let The Vultures In”, reached over 50 million streams on Spotify. If you love a rock anthem, check out this head banger: “Let Me Live/ Let Me Die.”

• Badflower

  Badflower is a rock band from Los Angeles, California. The band consists of lead singer, Josh Katz, lead guitarist, Joey Morrow, bass guitarist, Alex Espiritu and drummer, Anthony Sonetti. Their debut album “OK, I’M SICK” was released in 2019 and included some of their biggest hits to date such as, “Heroin”, “The Jester” & “Ghost”. Their second album, “This Is How The World Ends” will be coming out on September 24th. The lead single from this album is an emotional and personal song titled “Family”. “This one was especially confronting and honestly life changing. I cried the entire time—ugly cried.” says leader singer Josh Katz.

  jxdn also known as Jaden Hossler is a TikTok star turned musician. He rose to fame on TikTok in 2019 before starting his music career and releasing his first single “Comatose” in early 2020. Some of his most popular songs include “Pray”, “ANGELS & DEMONS”, and “WANNA BE” ft Machine Gun Kelly. jxdn is signed to Travis Barker’s DTA Label.

• Girl in Red

  Girl in Red otherwise known as Marie Ulven Ringheim is a Norwegian indie pop star writing songs centered around love and mental health. Some of her top hits include, “we fell in love in october”, “i wanna be your girlfriend”, and “girls”. She released her first single, “i wanna be your girlfriend” on Soundcloud in 2016. Girl in Red signed with AWAL, a British music distribution company in 2019 and released her debut album “If I Could Make It Go Quiet” on April 30th of this year.
