The University of Delaware’s popular UDairy Creamery opened its second location around Newark and the surrounding Delaware campus on Monday inside the University of Delaware’s Barnes and Noble Bookstore. The Creamery is expected to serve its full slate of products including ice cream and cheese, which is offered at its original location next to the Fred Rust Ice Arena. According to a statement put out by the university, the new creamery location will offer coffee and sandwiches along with its typical products. Director of Creamery Operations Melinda Shaw said in the statement that both the Newark and university communities were interested in having another location opened in Newark. The first UDairy location opened in 2011 during the City of Newark’s annual Ag Day. “We were so grateful for this opportunity to partner with Barnes and Noble, so our students can work and learn in an exciting environment located in the heart of UD,” Shaw said in a statement.
The newest location’s hours over the summer are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Monday through Saturday, with the Barnes and Noble location open from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday. A link to the Creamery’s website for both locations can be found here.
